Today marks the 8th day that ASE 12.0.0.2 ESD #1 is being held back
with no indication of when it will be available.

An inside source at Sybase has stated that the reason ASE 12.0.0.2 ESD #1
is being held back is due to a problem with Async I/O on the Solaris
platform,
however Sybase's official "party line" is still that the release is being
held up due
to problems related to the clarity of release cover letters and installation
procedures.
This is, of course, a ludicrous explanation, not worth the paper it is
printed on.
