Could you please let me know how to proceed to:
migrate a user database running under Sybase 11.5 on NT 4.0 to Sybase 11.5

on Solaris 2.7?
migrate the system databases running under Sybase 11.5 on NT 4.0 to Sybase

11.5 on Solaris 2.7?

Thanks for your help.

You can't do a dump and load since the hardware architectures are
incompatible. This only leaves copying the data over with bcp or
using CIS to do selects. You would need to reproduce your DDL first.
Look at dbschema.pl from http://www.midsomer.org/. Rather than bcp'ing
using files, you could try server to server bcp's using either Scott
Gray's sqsh (a link to it can be found in the sybase FAQ at
http://www.isug.com/Sybase_FAQ/) or BCPtool which can be found at
http://www.mbay.net/~mpeppler/bcptool/. System databases cannot and
should not be copied. All you really need are the master..syslogins
information. Note that the password encryption is different between
NT and Unix so you would either have to reset all the passwords or
reenter al the users. Also note that ASE 11.5 is being EOL'd fairly
soon. You may want to use ASE 11.9.2 or above instead.
