Hi:

I'm a fairly new Sybase DBA and I'm facing a typical task of copying a
server from one box to another. I know that some people use DBArtisan
for database migration. However, I need to copy the entire server to
another (same platform). Unfortunately, I was unable to find any Sybase
doc on the standard procedure. Could anyone point me in some direction
here?

Any help would be appreciated.

(I'm on NT 4/Sybase 11.x)

Since they are both on the same platform, it should be easy
enough. Install ASE on the other machine, copy over all the
dat files, the config files and run scripts, make sure that
the drive mapping are all the same and then try starting it
up. If the drive mappings are different then you'll have to
create new devices and databases and use dump and load.
