What options do I have for the dump and load? Will SQL-Backtrack work?
While testing the migration I used both the Sybase dump/load and
SQL-Backtrack. The Sybase load indicated it was upgrading the database, the
SQL-Backtrack did not. How do I know the database is 64-bit? Any commands
to verify I'm running a 64-bit database. @@version indicates 64-bit, what
else can I check?

Thanks for your help,
Dwayne

It is much the same as 11.9.3, except for support for faster devices and
the new QUIESCE DATABASE command coupled with device backup

You should ask BMC if your version of SQL Backtrack will work with ASE 12.0

I would ask BMC about that. If you were doing a "logical" dump (in essence a
bunch
of bcps under the covers) it indeed might not upgrade - and it may well be that
you
are not supposed to use logical SQL Backtrack dumps for upgrade - but you
should
ask BMC.

dataserver -v or "select @@version" when connected will show you the version
string,
which mentions 64-bit for the versions that are (note the "32bit" in the string
below):

bret-sun{bret}26: ./dataserver -v
Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.0.0.1/P/SWR 9402 ONE-OFF/Sun_svr4/OS
5.6/1629/32bit/FBO/Tue Nov 28 08:13:18 2000

That is all you need to check.
