We are working on a proof of concept project to integrate Visual Studio 2010
and PowerDesigner 16.1.

I can create C# solution in Visual Studio and then add a PowerDesigner
project to that.

Then, the PowerDesigner documentation says that you can generate code and
keep the code and the model in sync. This is where I run into problems.

I right-click the model in the 'Solution Explorer', which is supposed to
open a 'Code Generation' page.

Instead of the 'Code Generation' page, I get an error message that says:

"Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the
neutral culture. Make sure
"Sybase.PowerDesigner.VisualStudio.Common.Controls.ExtendedTreeView_Resources.resources"
was correctly embedded or linked into assembly
"Sybase.PowerDesigner.VisualStudio" at compile time, or that all the
satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed."

The thing is, that I have no idea at all how to fix this problem. Does
anyone out there have any ideas on it?

TIA,

Bob Mathis

I haven't used PD inside of VS because I've found similar
issues. I just point PD at the directory my project is in
and it works pretty well. I'm not sure what using PD inside
VS does differently then running them together (other than
having the models open in VS tabs), though getting an error
would seem to indicate there is something. I feel like I
have more flexibility when running them in parallel and can
round-trip pretty well. Generate<->Syncronyze
