Hi

I am unable to isql from a client server into my IQ server.
On the iq host I can run isql utility and connect fine.
However from client host I am unable to isql using same
connection paramaters. Error is generic as below

Password:
Msg 4002, Level 14, State 0:
SQL Anywhere Error -103: Invalid user ID or password

I have interfaces entry setup correctly and running ASE
client .env & .sh files to source environment.

Please suggest

This means problem is at client side. can you try using any other user id ?
double check interface entry

I am using the same interfaces entry as on the IQ host on
client machine. I have tried with various different user
accounts including dba which work fine on IQ host but not on
client host.

In such situation I would try few options like

(1) try connecting with dbisql
(2) try reinstalling client
(3) try connecting using Sybase central

Dev5,

First you need to make sure that you are able to open the
Sybase IQ port from client.Do simple telnet test with same
hostname and port defined in interfaces file.

telnet sybase_iq_server_host port_number (Hit Enter)
Then hold Ctrl and pres ] key (if this does gives you
telnet> prompt then you have issue with Sybase client. If
does not then check your network)

Regards,
Abhijit
