I have a CDM with a PDM that was created from it. On further analysis I need
to split a CDM entity into parent and child entities. I know I can create a
child and type in the fields, but there are a lot of fields. Is there a way
to split the CDM entity into two?

Thanks
Jim

Two simple techniques for you, that should work in PD 16 or
16.1 (I'm not sure about PD 15):

1. create a copy of the original entity - it'll have the
same attributes as the original. There are several ways of
copying an object:
* use Ctrl/C and Ctrl/V in the browser or diagram
* drag the object in the browser, while holding down the
<Ctrl> key

2. create a new entity, then drag the required attributes
from the original entity to the new entity - select them on
the diagram or in the browser and drag with the mouse. If
you drag using the RIGHT mouse button, you'll be given a
number of options, including moving or copying them
