We are preparing to move our user base from v15.1 to v16.1
in an environment where all users use served licenses. It
appears that I need to generate new licenses for use with
the instances of 16.1, but if I generate the new (16.1)
licenses, what happens to the current (15.1) licenses? For
example, a few existing users would need to retain access to
their 15.1 client to work with current models (and the
Repository, which will remain at v15.1 until the date of the
official conversion to 16.1), but also need to use a 16.1
client as we *prepare* for the conversion.

Suggestions? Insight? Experience? :-)

Thx ... Will

Hi Will,

you can use 16.1 licenses both for 16.1 and 15.1 users. And
if you start using higher licenses, it`s totally independent
on the model version you`re working with.

Our existing 15.1 users all utilize "Studio Enterprise" licenses. Since
that designation does not exist in 16.1, I anticipate that we be using
"Enterprise Architect" licenses instead. Will that make a difference to
being able to use the "higher licences" as referenced below?

Thx ... Will Taylor
