Current ASE version: 15.5 ESD#3
Current Rep version: 15.6

Need to apply ASE 15.5 ESD#5.1 to both primary ASE and warm
standby ASE.
Need to apply Rep 15.6 ESD#3 to Rep server.

Will following steps work for update primary and standby
ASE?
1. shutdown ASE
2. install EBF
3. Restart ASE
4. run installmaster and other install scripts.
Do I need to stop rep agents or rep server?

Will following steps work for update Rep server?
1. shutdown Rep server
2. install EBF
3. Restart Rep server

Steps looks good , few points to be noted though ...

it is a good practise to (1) take backup of databases and $SYBASE folder
before applying EBF (2) good idea to keep repserver quiesed hence stop
repagents and DSIs no need to shutdown repserver

Will following steps work for update Rep server?
> 1. shutdown Rep server
> 2. install EBF
> 3. Restart Rep server

(1) take RSSD backup and repserver binaries backup befpre EBF (2) Good
idea to keep repserver quiesed before proceeding for EBF upgrade

Thanks Manish.
So run following command to quiesce Repserver?
suspend log transfer from all
admin quiesce_force_rsi
admin quiesce_check
admin quiesce_force_rsi
admin quiesce_check

After installed EBF and restarted standby ASE, primary ASE,
and Repserver, since Repserver is quiesced, do I need to run
'sp_start_rep_agent' and 'resume connection to
dataserver.database'?

No need to do > suspend log transfer from all ( stopping repagent is
enough)

right you need to do that , also before applying EBF to repserver, its good
idea to check if repserver is quiesed
