I have installed the SUP Platform 2.1 - now how do I setup
SUP in order to use it? I have created the
relayserver.sybase.com entry including the outbound enabler
for messaging and replication. Now how do I use the HR
approvals application on the iPhone? It is requesting a
Gateway userid/pass and activation code, but there is no
documentation on even the need to install an SAP gateway in
the installation guide. How do I get an activation code? I
am trying to get my company to use this software as a pilot,
however, I cannot even get it setup to work with one
application. Very non-intuitive UI. Any help would be
appreciated.

Hi Paul, yes-that is the blog that I used to setup the
relayserver that I mentioned. Very helpful - thank you.

Now my problem is - I need to demo the HR Approvals SAP
application from an iPhone. Here is what it is asking me:

SUP Host address (I am using the server that SUP is
installed on)
SUP Port Number (I am using the 5001 port for MBS)
SUP Company ID (not sure what to put here - default is
Mobile)

SUP Username (I am using supAdmin for now)
SUP Activation code (i am using 123 - as setup in the SUP
application users config for the supAdmin user)

Gateway Username (not sure what this is)
Gateway Password (not sure what this is)

I setup a connection template for SAP JCo connection to my
back-end SAP system and the ping works fine. How can I have
this application use that JCo? Is it a requirement that I
install an SAP Gateway System? Everything I read points to
yes, but then what is the point of having SAP JCo connection
templates?

My trouble is that I need to connect the HR Approvals
application to my back-end SAP system and I cannot find
ANYTHING regarding on how to do this with the HR Approvals
iPhone application......any ideas??

Thank you for the help.

You are missing a lot of components. SAP Netweaver Gateway
is one, either installed on your ERP ABAP stack system or a
seperate server.

In addition you are missing the MBO's developed by SAP plus
the ERP package from SAP which is whatever has been done on
the backend (could be custom BAPIS/OData objects/custom
tables, only SAP plus those who have access to this know
exactly what is needed. You only have an empty platform
waiting for the rest of the "APP" to be deployed and
configured. To get that you need to get in touch with SAP
sales or your main SAP customer contact. If you want to
make some modifications to the code then that is a process
to go through with SAP as well as perhaps with apple as well
but you should not need that unless you want to make some
changes.
