I am intermittently receiving the message
"[DBExecute - -2147467259 - [Sybase][ODBC Driver][Sybase
IQ]I/O Error on file"
when trying to load a file into Sybase IQ.

So far I cannot identify any cause. Has anyone had
experience with this message?

I will post more information as it comes to hand.

Any help or suggestions sincerely appreciated.

BK

Also, why are you using Sybase ODBC driver for IQ.. you should use the
IQ anywhere ODBC driver (recommended).
Also for LOAD TABLE USING CLIENT, you have to ensure the options
(permissioning) have been correctly set.

Make sure no one else is accessing the file this causes the
blow out on Windows files (Including loading a windws client
file into a unix/linux IQServer using LOAD CLIENT FILE).

Other things to be aware of is depending ont he options you
should have execute permission on the file in Unix/Linux and
access to the whole directory path.

btw, also note jconnect and any other odbc driver besides the IQ
anywhere ODBC driver does not run LOAD TABLE USING CLIENT FILE.. Its a
big limitation on the driver. you can easily check by using dbisql and
switch between odbc and jdbdc.. I had a harrowing time figuring this out.
