We had a problem installing the Impact client on a Vista PC
and was told the client was not certified for Vista.
Will the client be able to run on Windows 7 ?
Are there plans to upgrade the client to run on Vista or
Win7?

We use Windows Virtual PC (Windows XP Mode) to run the client on an
Windows 7 machine (Professionnal). The server works well on Windows 7
(useful for development) and the client Console works too on Windows 7.
So we install the client both on Windows 7 and the Virtual XP and we use
XP for the Configurator and 7 for the Console.

We hope too that the client will (fully) run on Windows 7 some day.

As you've stated, the best option is to use Windows 7
professional with Virtual XP mode. I use Virtual XP mode
for just about all of my e-Biz Impact work now.

The current installation of the e-Biz Impact client will
install in Windows 7, but the Configurator requires
MSXML2.DLL which won't install in either Vista or Windows 7
because of some security vulnerabilities. If the reliance
on MSXML2.DLL was removed from Configurator, the client
should not have any issues in Windows 7. Maybe if enough of
us mention this to the support group, it might be corrected.
