Hi Michele;

Since MS's WM O/S direction is Windows Phone 7 and this new O/S is *not*
compatible to WM as its based on WPF - I suspect that PPB is dead from that
POV as it only works with WM / WinCE. Sybase has indicated in its PB 15
RoadMap that WP7 could be a possibility under PB.net as its technology is
based on WPF. However, PB 15 is at leaast 1.5 years out and no current
development seems to be going on on PPB. We have not seen a software release
now for 1.5+ years - so I think it unlikely PPB will continue IMHO.

Hi Michele

Sybase has not issued any statements about end of life for
PocketBuilder. We delivered the product as part of the
PowerBuilder 11.5 Enterprise product to provide it to all
customers. Usage has been high in some customer segments but
not overall. This is due to both the significant changes in
mobile deployment platforms and options as well as the lack
of new releases of PK to keep up with these changes.

We are gathering feedback from customers on what type of
mobile solution they are looking for and determining the
best path to take for PB. Silverlight is already in our
roadmap so it will solve the Win7 phone deployment solution,
and we're monitoring the adoption of this platform in the
market. Sybase (and SAP's) strategic direction is mobile
development via the SUP platform, and we are working
internally to provide PB customers support for that
platform. Send me an email if you'd like to let me know
about specific mobile development needs
