Hi!

I'm testing ADS 8.1 for Linux (and Windows as well) and I would like to
check the number of Users, Threads, open Tables...

Is there a tool that runs on Linux as the "Advantage Configuration Utility"
for Windows?

Regards,

Ingo Kothke

you can use the Advantage Data Architect. There's an older version
available which is compiled with Kylix and runs on Linux.
I'm also using Data Architect for Windows with WINE under my Linux
boxes.

Thank you!
I tried to install the Data Architect today, but got a message:

Unable to open /etc/X11/applnk/Advantage/ads.desktop: No such file or
directory at ./setup.pl line 988.

Is there something else to be installed or am I making a mistake? (/etc/X11
exists but no applnk-Directory)

Hello Ingo,
I'm not sure why the applnk directory would not be present on your
system. What Linux distribution are you running?

I don't think that particular error should be "fatal". The script is
failing when attempting to create shortcuts in the Gnome/KDE "start"
menus. So, I think that it should still work, even with this error. If
you look in your installation directory (/usr/local/ads/arc by default),
I think you'll see that the files are present. Assuming that to be so,
you can start ARC using the "startarc" script in the installation directory.

HTH,

Jed Thomet
