The ADA uses read ahead record caching to fill the grid. The read ahead
caching is default to 10. Make sure it is not disabled in your application.
You can also try to set it to a higher value to improve performance on
internet connection. See the API AdsCacheRecords for more information.

The performance can also be affect by how the databrowser retrieves data to
fill itself. For example, a common problem with grid/databrowser that cause
performance issue is constantly getting the record count of the cursor in
order to determine the relative position of the current record in the result
set. The purpose of getting the relative position is to display the correct
thumb/drag bar thingy next to the browser. If the result set is filter in
some way, this can be very expensive.
