I have a window (index.htm) which has two frame windows. This is the
initial window that the user sees. The first frame (menu.htm) has a dynamic
menu built based on the authorities of the user logged in. The menu is
based on the user information found in the Session object. Obviously, when
the user first displays the window, the menu is very limited.

The second frame is for user interaction (?whatever?.htm). When the user
requests the login option off of the menu, the login window is displayed in
the second frame window. The user enters their login information and clicks
a button which then verifies their identity via a Jaguar component and
responds with the appropriate information which is then set in the session
object.

The problem is that once the user is validated and the session object is
updated I need to reload the original window (main.htm) which will
effectively reload the dynamic menu based on the new user information in the
session object.

How do I get the original frame window to refresh?

TIA
Alan Rosine

Am I correct in saying you need to get menu.htm to refresh at the time
that you approve the person logging in?

I have done something similar to what you are asking and all I did was
write the following in my server side script so that the menu frame (
named scr_menu ) was reloaded.

document.WriteLn( '<SCRIPT>' )
document.WriteLn( 'parent.scr_menu.location.reload();' )
document.WriteLn( '</SCRIPT>' )

Hope this helps.

Adam,

I actually wanted to be able to reload the index.htm page that contains the
two frames but this works as well.

Thank you for your assistance.
